Crikvenica riviera ( in croatian: Crikvenicka riviera ) consists of main town Crikvenica , town Selce 5 km on east side and village Dramalj 2 km on west side. Crikvenica is a town in the west of Croatia, population cca 11.000. It is situated at the Adriatic coast, near Rijeka, the capital of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county in which it resides. Towns near include Kraljevica and Novi Vinodolski. Crikvenica is a well-known tourist destination and health centre situated in Kvarner bay in the North Adriatic. Car, airplain or even a train could easily reach it. Because of very good connection with all European countries as well as mild Mediterranean climate with 2.500 sunny hours per year, our town has more than 110 years old tradition in tourism. In close surrounding of Crikvenica you can see many attractions such as the world famous national park of Plitvice lakes with beautiful waterfalls, island of Krk with the islet of Košljun and small town Vrbnik that exists since 1.100, woods of Gorski kotar or amphitheatre in Pula.
You can spend holidays enjoying its crystal blue water, taking long walks along promenade, fish specialities in numerous restaurants, sport activities such as diving, sailing, tennis, beach volley, bicycling, as well as live music, disco music or cultural and folklore events. Crikvenica beach is 1.5 km long sandy and gravel beach, and it is an urban beach situated in the center of town. It has been rewarded with the blue flag mark from FEE Danish Outdoor Council from Copenhagen Denmark. The famous Crikvenica beach has tourism and catering services, long tradition of health tourism, lifeguards, lifesaving quipment, doctor, facilities for disabled, renting facilities, recycling facilities, first aid facilities, volleyball on the beach playground, etc. Lifeguards are on duty from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (June 5-September 10) There are no sensitive areas in the vicinity, as the each is located in the town center. The Crikvenica beach area is closed with a fence, surrounded by pedestrian crossings, with 2 entrances to the beach from the street and safe ccess to the water. The Crikvenica beach has bulletin boards with relevant information, information desks with employees to provide information and brochures. The beach cooperates actively with local Eco-schools. Close to the Crikvenica beach we have diving school, food markets, bakery, exchange offieces, pub, night club, caffes and restaurants. |
